Banana-pants dad

He's clearly a dad.
Why? He's got a banana
In his pants-pocket.

Banana-pants dad,
Whose virtues will go unsung,
Your banana won't.

  1. I like the phrase "banana-pants dad." But the subject matter and last line are a little awkward.

  2. See, I don't think so. It's like one of those Anglo-Saxon riddles which sound really sexual but actually refer to something non-sexual. Like these here.

The story is just that I noticed a dad in church with a banana in his pants pocket -- you may remember him; his little red-headed boy is Down-syndrome, and always very fussy during Divine Service -- and just found it endearing that he was carrying a banana in his pants with which he could placate his son at a moment's-notice.
